Fox wins 2010 Singer/Songwriter showdown at Dylan Days

HIBBING, Minn. ─ Danny Fox of Peoria, Illinois returned to Bob Dylan's hometown to reclaim his title as Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter champion on Friday, May 28 at Zimmy's Restaurant. Local musician Sam Erickson of Chisholm finished second. Defending champion Luke "Little Diamonds" Sopiwnik finished third.

Fox, the 2008 winner, finished second in 2009. The winner of the competition earns an aucoustic guitar. Twenty musicians from all over the country competed for the top prize, each performing one Dylan song and one original.

In 2010 Dylan Days added a "walk on" singer songwriter contest on Saturday, May 29 to accomodate the many musicians who arrive at Dylan Days but were too late to get on the official bill for the Friday night contest. Jaime Ness of Duluth won this exhibition. Jay Hoiland & Mary Menke took second and longtime local Dylan Days competitor Gary Burt of Taconite took third.
