on Dylan Days 2011, celebrating Bob Dylan's 70th birthday and the 10th
year of Hibbing's citywide Dylan Days. The following excerpt from the May 2009 edition of Rolling Stone's Douglas Brinkley interview with Dylan explains why we organize Dylan Days:
“I
ask Dylan if he minds people visiting Hibbing or Duluth or Minneapolis
searching for the root of his talent. ‘Not at all,’ he surprisingly
says. ‘That town where I grew up hasn’t really changed that much, so
whatever was in the air before is probably still there. I go through
once in a while coming down from Canada. I’ll stop there and wander
around.’"

announces 2010 show at historic
Hibbing Memorial Building Little Theater, site of Dylan's first paid
gig.
- Iron Range Tourism launches "Come Home Bob" campaign.
- Changes to entry rules for the Dylan Days Visual Arts contest. Deadline for
submission has moved up to May 21, 2010. There is now a small entry fee
which allows exciting new benefits for the winners.
- The Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter Contest showbill is now
full; however, names are being accepted for the waiting list and there
are plans for another event that would allow anyone interested in
playing on a Dylan-significant stage the opportunity to do so. Stay
tuned!
